The core message was about the importance of engaging with Scripture in the same way Jesus did. Pastor emphasized that our response to temptation and challenges reveals what's in our hearts, as seen in Luke 6:45. By treasuring God's Word in our hearts and practicing it in community, we align ourselves with Jesus' example. The sermon highlighted the transformative power of Scripture in shaping our identity, actions, and understanding of God's story.

What changes have you noticed in your life when you actively apply Scripture?
How can we ensure that our engagement with Scripture is not just intellectual but also transformational?
What are some practical steps we can take to treasure God's Word in our hearts daily?
In 'Word to Live By: How do we engage with Scripture?' Pastor shared how to love Jesus by loving Scripture, just as He did. We learned to engage with Scripture through meditation, singing, memorization, in community, and application. Reflecting on the Temptation of Jesus in Matthew 4:1-11, we saw how Jesus used Scripture to refute the devil's temptations, which questioned His identity, power, and the proof of God's love. We were encouraged to consider what comes out of us when faced with similar challenges.
Let's commit to memorizing Scripture to strengthen our hearts against temptation.
