Main Idea

The main idea of the message was that the church is not a building, but a community of believers who are called to represent Jesus and make a difference in the world.

Scripture References

Matthew 16:18, John 10:10, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Philippians 3:8-9, John 15:4-5, John 14:16, John 16:13, John 1:14, Galatians 5:22-26

How can we balance being in the world but not of the world?

Being a Christian is not about fitting in or being comfortable, it's about standing out and offering something better.

What are some practical ways we can maintain intimacy with God on a daily basis?

Discussion Questions:

How can we avoid becoming too busy and distracted in our Christian lives?

In what areas of our lives do we need to shift our focus from ourselves to God?

Why is it important to be intentional in our relationship with God rather than just being busy?

We cannot pour out to others if we are not first filled up by God.

Summary

This week's message at Life United, entitled 'Upon This Rock', was a continuation of our series discussing the role of the church in our lives. Pastor John reminded us of the importance of staying connected to Jesus, our rock, in order to thrive in our faith and fulfill the Great Commission.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

Let us not get too comfortable in our Christian lives and forget the importance of reaching out to those who don't know Jesus.

We must make time for intimacy with God and allow His presence to renew and transform us.
