The Culture of Biblical Leadership

Pastor Bryan

October 19, 2025

Main Idea

The main idea emphasized that biblical leadership is essential for cultivating a Kingdom Culture within the church. Pastor Bryan taught us that every elder must submit to Jesus, the Chief Shepherd, and that we, as followers, are called to respect and obey our leaders. He explained that this structure of authority is for our protection and growth in faith. The sermon reinforced that elders are not merely managers but shepherds who nurture and guard their flock. By following Peter's instructions in 1 Peter 5, we were encouraged to view our leaders as examples to imitate in our walk with Christ. Ultimately, we learned that submitting to spiritual authority is a vital part of living out our faith, helping us grow closer to God and each other.

Summary

In the sermon, we concluded our series on Kingdom Culture, focusing on how biblical leadership impacts our lives. Pastor Bryan reminded us that Kingdom Culture involves living under God's rule for His glory. He emphasized the importance of elders in the church, urging us to recognize their role as shepherds who lead by example, not by force. We learned that true spiritual authority is rooted in humility and is modeled after Jesus, our Chief Shepherd. This was illustrated through Peter's exhortation to the elders in 1 Peter 5, where he encouraged them to shepherd the flock willingly and eagerly. The message highlighted the necessity of spiritual accountability and the protection that elders provide against false teachings. We were called to submit to the authority established by God for our care and benefit.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

Let us commit to praying for our church elders regularly.
