The main idea of the message was to highlight the importance of not allowing fear to dictate our lives. Pastor Dan explained that while fear can arise, it is our faith and the foundation we build on that ultimately determines our ability to withstand life's storms. He reinforced that Jesus is the only foundation that can support us through our fears, and that we should intentionally choose to replace our fears with the truth of God's word. The pastor urged us to recognize that fear may be present, but we have the power to combat it through faith and remembering God's past faithfulness. By shifting our focus from fear to faith, we can build a life on the rock rather than sand.

What does it mean for you to build your life on the foundation of Jesus?
Can you share an instance where remembering God's faithfulness helped you overcome fear?
How can we actively speak God's promises in our lives when we face difficult situations?
In the sermon, we explored how many of us feel as though we are sinking, not due to external storms, but because of internal fears. Pastor Dan reminded us that while fear is a natural emotion, it should not be the foundation upon which we build our lives. He emphasized that storms are inevitable, but our foundation determines our outcome. We learned that fear can convince us but cannot sustain us, and shortcuts taken out of fear do not last. The pastor encouraged us to shift from fear to faith by remembering God's faithfulness and not allowing fear to be our foundation. We were challenged to name our fears, replace them with scripture, and speak God's promises aloud to combat the storms we face.
Name the fear that has been holding you back and write it down.
Replace that fear with a scripture verse and speak it out loud during times of storm.
