Signed, Sealed, Delivered

Main Idea

So the main idea here is that Jesus is God, He is above all, and He is all we'll ever need. In Colossians 1:13-14, Paul reminds us that Jesus has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son. This is a huge contrast between two kingdoms and it's important for us to understand this in the midst of spiritual warfare.

Scripture References

Colossians 1:13-14, Ephesians 6:10-18, John 17:15-18, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:4-6

How do you personally relate to the concept of being transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light? What changes have you noticed in your life since this transfer?

As Jesus said, 'I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.' We have God's protection and purpose as we live in this world.

Considering the ongoing spiritual warfare, what practical steps can you take to equip yourself with the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)?

Discussion Questions:

In what ways can you participate in the mission of spreading the Gospel, as Jesus commanded? How can you utilize your God-given purpose to impact your community?

Reflect on the magnitude of God's grace in your life. How does understanding your salvation as a gift change your perspective on serving and obeying God?

What does the victory of Jesus over sin and death mean to you in your everyday struggles and challenges? How can you live in the reality of this victory?

And as Mufasa from The Lion King said, 'If Jesus doesn't do another thing, He is still enough.' We don't have to strive or earn our salvation, it's a gift from God.

Summary

Hey everyone, Pastor Anthony here from Reverb Church. Today's message is titled 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' and I wanted to talk to you about the importance of understanding our salvation and the victory we have in Jesus. We all need saving from our craziness, right? Well, that's exactly what Paul was reminding the church in Colossae of. False teachers were trying to tell them that Jesus wasn't enough and Paul wanted to reaffirm the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

So my first call to action for you is to equip yourself with the armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. We need to be prepared for the spiritual battle that we're in and the best way to do that is by putting on the full armor of God.

And my second call to action is to participate in the mission of spreading the Gospel, just as Jesus commanded us to do. We have a God-given purpose to impact our community and reach those who don't know Jesus. Let's use our protection and purpose to fulfill God's calling on our lives.
