The main idea of this message is that Jesus has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, where we have forgiveness of sins. We are no longer under the power of Satan, but instead, we are under the protection of God and have a purpose to share the gospel with others.
Colossians 1:13-14, Ephesians 6:12, John 17:15-18, Ephesians 2:4-6, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23
In what ways can you participate in Jesus' mission to reach others? How can you use the armor of God to protect yourself?
Why do we tend to attach conditions to the free gift of salvation? How does understanding salvation as a gift change our perspective on serving and obeying God?
In light of Jesus' complete victory over sin and death, how can you live in that reality to overcome your everyday struggles and challenges?
Hey everyone, Pastor Anthony here from Reverb Church. I want to share with you a message titled 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'. In this message, we're reminded that we all need saving from our craziness and that's exactly what Paul was trying to convey to the church in Colossae. False teachers were targeting the new believers, claiming that Jesus wasn't enough and some even said he wasn't God. So, Paul writes a letter to encourage and reaffirm the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ. He reminds us that Jesus is God, above all, and all we'll ever need. In our key verse, Paul explains how Jesus saves us from spiritual death.
Let's remember that we are in a spiritual battle and we must know the tactics of the enemy in order to resist them. We must also recognize our purpose in sharing the gospel and participate in Jesus' command to reach others.
We must also live in the victory that Jesus has already achieved for us. This means standing strong and using the armor of God to overcome our everyday struggles and challenges.
