Main Idea

The main idea of Pastor Jacob's message was that our identity and the people we surround ourselves with are pivotal in determining our life's trajectory. He stressed that while we should love everyone, not everyone should have equal access to our lives. By sharing the story of Rehoboam and other scriptures, he showed us that the counsel we choose to follow can either uphold or destroy what we've built. Pastor Jacob urged us to seek wisdom and build relationships with those who truly walk with God, as they can guide us towards fulfilling God's purpose for our lives.

Discussion Questions:

Whoever has your ear also holds your future, affecting all aspects of your life.

Summary

Pastor Jacob Aranza's sermon, titled 'Identity,' focused on the importance of understanding our identity and being mindful of the audience we keep. He emphasized that these two factors greatly influence our future. Drawing from biblical history, Pastor Jacob illustrated how our choices, especially in relationships, can lead us towards God's best or the enemy's worst. He used the story of Rehoboam from 1 Kings 12 to show the consequences of listening to the wrong counsel and how it can lead to the loss of what took years to build. He encouraged us to love everyone with 'Agape Love' but to be selective about who we allow into our lives, as they can shape our future.
