Main Idea

The central theme of the sermon was the importance of understanding and aligning with God's will to experience peace and answered prayers. Pastor highlighted that our own desires can lead to conflict and dissatisfaction, but by knowing God's will, revealed through Jesus and the scriptures, we can live in harmony with His plans. We were urged to view the Word of God through the lens of Jesus' life, which provides a complete picture of God's character and intentions for us.

1. How can we discern whether our desires are aligned with God's will?

We often ask for things with the wrong motives, because we see from the wrong perspective; we ask wrong, because we see wrong.

2. In what ways can we apply the understanding of God's will, as revealed through Jesus, to our daily lives?

Discussion Questions:

3. How does our perspective on God's nature affect our prayer life and the outcomes we expect?

4. Can you share a personal experience where aligning your prayers with God's will led to peace or resolution?

5. What steps can we take to ensure that our understanding of God is based on Jesus' teachings rather than our own experiences?

Jesus is the living expression of the will of God; to know God's will, look to Jesus.

Summary

In the sermon, Pastor discussed the root of conflicts and desires, emphasizing that our struggles often stem from trying to control outcomes and seeking fulfillment in the wrong ways. We were reminded that living in a cycle of chaos is not God's will for us. Instead, we should seek to understand God's will, which is revealed through His Word and ultimately through Jesus Christ. By looking at Jesus' life and teachings, we can gain a clearer understanding of God's nature and will. The message encouraged us to align our desires with God's will, ensuring our prayers are in accordance with His plans, leading to a life of answered prayers and peace.
