The central message of 'Foundations of Our Faith Part 1' was that our salvation is a gift from God, not something we can earn through good deeds. Pastor explained that while we often try to measure up to God's standards and work hard to be on the 'right side of the list,' it's impossible to achieve perfection on our own. Instead, God offers us grace freely through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We are called to respond with faith, putting our full confidence in Jesus and the work He completed on the cross for our salvation.

What are some ways we can remind ourselves to trust in Jesus' finished work rather than our own efforts?
How does the analogy of Santa's list help us understand misconceptions about God's grace?
In what ways can we share the message of grace through faith with others who may be striving to earn God's favor?
In 'Foundations of Our Faith Part 1,' Pastor shared with us the beautiful truth that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works. He used the analogy of Santa's list to illustrate how we often believe we must earn good things, including God's grace. However, God's standard is perfection, which we can't achieve on our own. Thankfully, Jesus bridged the gap between our sinfulness and God's righteousness by dying for us, offering us grace as a free gift. Pastor encouraged us to trust in Jesus' finished work and to rest in the assurance of our salvation through faith alone.
