Feasting With the King

Pastor Brad Livingston

Main Idea

The central theme of Pastor Brad's message was the invitation from Jesus to join Him at His table, an offer that extends to everyone, regardless of their past or present circumstances. He encouraged us to see ourselves through Jesus' eyes, to come clean rather than clean up, and to understand that the times we're not 'ok' are the perfect moments to sit with Him. The King's table is a place where our messy pieces are transformed into a masterpiece.

Scripture References

Luke 14:16-18, Mark 2:16-17, Psalm 23:5, Psalm 23:1-6, Luke 19:5, Luke 19:8

What part of today's sermon stood out to you the most?

It's not wrong to be hurt, it's wrong to stay hurt.

Out of the three things we listed, what is Jesus' main priority for you (rest, healing, peace)?

Discussion Questions:

What are you going to do differently starting today knowing that Jesus is inviting you to sit with him?

The King's table is where you bring messy pieces and He makes a masterpiece.

Summary

In 'Feasting with the King,' Pastor Brad Livingston shared with us the beautiful imagery of Jesus inviting us to a banquet, as depicted in Luke 14:16-18. He emphasized that the King is ready to heal our hurts, as it's not wrong to be hurt but it's wrong to stay hurt. We were reminded that our pain is unique and not comparable to others. Pastor Brad also spoke about finding rest amidst our rivals, referencing Psalm 23:5, and the idea that Jesus doesn't ask us to clean up before coming to Him, but rather to come as we are, as illustrated in the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19:5-8.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

Hit pause every day to sit at the King's table.

Imagine how many people you could bring to the table with Jesus if you truly believed He wanted you there first.
