Main Idea

In his final days, Jesus gave generously with his words of love and affirmation, but also with his possessions and resources. He showed us that true love and generosity moves beyond words to action.

Scripture References

Psalm 90:12, John 13-17, John 3:16, Malachi 3:10-12, Acts 10:31, Matthew 6:24

Why do you think it can be difficult for some people to express their love and affirmation for others?

True generosity is not just about giving money, but also giving love and affirmation freely and openly.

How can we follow Jesus' example and give generously with our words and actions?

Discussion Questions:

Why is it important to have the right attitude towards money and possessions?

In what ways can we serve God instead of serving money?

If you only had 30 days left to live, how would you want to spend your time and resources?

Remember, life and death are in the power of the tongue. Let's use our words to build others up and show love.

Summary

Last week, Pastor Jacob Aranza challenged us with a sobering question: What would we do if we only had 30 days left to live? Would we spend time with loved ones, forgive those who have hurt us, and show love generously? Today, he continues this series, titled "In But Not Of," by focusing on how Jesus gave generously in his last 30 days.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

Let's follow Jesus' example and give generously of our time, resources, and love to those around us.

Let's also reflect on any "word wounds" we may have caused and seek forgiveness from those we have hurt.
