Abraham's faith was tested by famine, but he ultimately learned to trust God and not give into fear.

How can we remind ourselves of God's promises and presence in difficult times?
What does it mean to have patient endurance?
In what ways can fear lead us to make bad decisions? How can we overcome fear?
In this message from Pastor Jacob Aranza at Our Savior's Church - Lafayette, we learn about Abraham and his journey with God. The Lord appeared to him and promised to make him a great nation and give him a lasting inheritance in a land he would show him. Abraham obeyed and left his home with his wife and servants. They arrived in Canaan, where God appeared to him again and promised him the land. Abraham built alters and worshipped God, but then a famine struck the land. Instead of trusting God, Abraham went to Egypt, where he let fear lead him to make bad decisions that put his wife in danger. However, God's grace ultimately saved him and he left Egypt with wealth and a new servant.
When faced with difficulties, we should stay where God has sent us, remind ourselves of God's promises and presence, and hold onto our endurance and the promise until we see the provision.
Let's learn from Abraham's journey and trust God instead of giving into fear.
