The main idea of Pastor Paul's message was that our true identity is found in God and not in the external factors that the world often uses to define us. He taught us that we are crafted by God's hands as His workmanship, chosen with purpose even amidst trials, sanctified and set apart by the Holy Spirit for a special use, and called to live in obedience to Jesus. Ultimately, we are made right with God and forgiven through Jesus' sacrifice, which should be the foundation of our identity.

3. In what ways can we see the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in our lives?
4. Discuss the tension between being 'elect and exiles' and how we can find peace in that tension.
5. How can we practically live out our obedience to Jesus in a world that often goes against His teachings?
Pastor Paul Feuerstein from Echo Church kicked off the New Year with a sermon titled 'A Different Identity' as part of the 'Different' series. He emphasized that to experience change, we need a new life, not just a new year. He used the example of an elk with a mistaken identity to illustrate the dangers of not knowing who we are. Pastor Paul explained that our identity should come from God, not from the world or our past failures. He highlighted that we are God's workmanship, chosen by God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit, obedient to Jesus, and forgiven by His blood.
Thank God daily for your identity in Him, acknowledging His work, choice, sanctification, and forgiveness in your life.
Affirm your identity in God out loud each morning and live out your divine purpose with intention.
