Pastor David Rials encouraged us to learn from Samson's story and to be aware of what we are addicted to and what our idols are, in order to honor God with our bodies and to reset our souls through 21 days of prayer in January.
Romans 15:4, Judges 2:16-19, Judges 13:3-5, Judges 13:24-25a, Genesis 3:6-7, Judges 14:3, 1 Corinthians 10:11, Judges 16:17, Judges 16:19-21, 1 Corinthians 6:9-20, Luke 18:9-14, 1 John 2:16
What does it mean to honor God with our bodies?
Why is it important to reset our souls through prayer?
What is the importance of understanding Samson's story?
In his sermon at Life United, Pastor David Rials highlighted how we can learn from Samson's story. Samson was a Nazarite, and his strength came from God's supernatural empowerment. His moral weakness led to his demise, however, when he was deceived by Delilah and gave away the source of his power. We can learn from this example that sin separates us from God, and that no matter our convictions, we should still honor God with our body. Anything that we can not sacrifice is an idol, and we should be aware of what we are addicted to. Finally, Pastor David encouraged us to reset our souls through 21 days of prayer in January.
We should be aware of what we are addicted to and what our idols are.
We should reset our souls through 21 days of prayer in January.
