Main Idea

The main idea of the sermon is that we are all God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.

Scripture References

Ephesians 2:10, Psalm 139:14, Romans 8:28, 1 John 1:9

What does it mean to be God's handiwork or masterpiece? How does this change your perspective on yourself?

You are a masterpiece with a specific mission. When God created you, He also created specific good works for you to do in the future.

How does knowing that you were created for good works make a difference in your life?

Discussion Questions:

What specific good works do you think God has prepared for you to do?

How can you live a life that glorifies God and gives back to the people He loves?

How will you remind yourself of your true identity in God when you feel insecure or when others say negative things about you?

Your job is what you're paid for, but your purpose is what you're made for.

Summary

In his sermon titled Masterpiece, Pastor David Rivera from Helena First church talks about the difference between the value of an artist's painting and our own paintings. He uses the example of a painting of mountains and the famous Mona Lisa to show how the worth of a painting comes from who created it. He then goes on to say that every single one of us is a masterpiece created by God.

Call to Action

Some next steps to take this week:

Think about the truth of what God says about you when you are being hard on yourself or feeling insecure. Search the Bible to find out your true identity in God.

Live a life that glorifies God and gives back to the people He loves by showing His love wherever you go, serving others, standing up for what is right, and giving to those in need.
